With over 20 years as an award-winning professional photographer, specializing in jewellery and gemstones, Jasalyn has spent her career learning how to see and capture the extraordinary details in nature. Her photographic work has been featured in the pages of Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Elle and many more.

Her journey into lapidary began as a child, eager to uncover the hidden treasures in sand and stone. Following in the footsteps of her late Grandparents, as a second-generation lapidary and lifelong multidisciplinary artist, the two worlds collided and gave her deep understanding, skill and appreciation for precision and fine detail. In 2017, Jasalyn won the Birks Jewellery Design Challenge and went on to have her very own capsule Bridal collection carried in Birks stores. In 2025, she presented her first solo art exhibit of photography, painting and abstract glassworks, continuing a lifelong practice of creating work ignited by colour, light and form, evident in her custom jewellery designs.

Opal is natures abstract art and a meeting point of all her passions in one gemstone. The patterns and luminous glow reminiscent of her abstract artworks. They are miniature works of art, each with its own character, movement and life.
